Little Brother Ch. 10

I agree with Jolu because sometimes people are descriminated by their color - yet it almost never happens to white people. Also, one example of this is Arizona's law/bill. It completely descriminated Mexicans, and other colored people. Finally, I agree because white persons always seem to get away with things.

Little Brother Ch. 9.2

I think it is probably not worth it because they would catch a lot of criminals, but eventually people would cheat the system, and then the DHS will just be making the country waste inneccessary money. Also, it invades EVERYONE's privacy, and that violates the Constitution. Finally, it is not worth it because it would make everyone uncomfortable and cause a lot of chaos in the country.

Little Brother Ch. 7.2

Marcus is worried about the Xnet because he thinks that they will figure out who uses Xnet. Because of that, Marcus and Jolu decide to make abnormal activity seem normal. This means that the normal internet users will download more encrypted data, thus covering the Xnetter's activity. I think their plan will work because it seems reasonable.

Little Brother Ch. 6.2

I think the police are after Marcus because they want to know why he has been riding the BART so much; they probably think he is doing something illegal [which he is]. I think in the next chapter Marcus will get arrested for distributing the DVDs to others. Also I think his friends will get caught using the  Xnet.

Little Brother Ch. 6.1

I think they put camaras in the school to keep track of what students say or do in class. They think that by putting camaras in their classrooms they will be safe. Also, to make sure nobody is planning a terrorist attack. I think they should not be allowed, because if the students are under pressure how are they supposed to concentrate? I would NOT support camaras in APB because it would bother me if someone was recording all that I did in class. If I was obligated to endure such outrageous actions, I would NOT go to school - I'd drop out, and work with the Turk guy from the coffee shop.

Little Brother CH. 5.2

I think that the Department of Homeland Security put the tracker in Marcus' computer. They are probably tracking him to make sure he does not tell anyone about what they did to him. I think that makes people very vulnerable, because it means that the government could track anyone without the person knowing. It's kind of creepy, because Marcus does not know if that is the only tracker or if there are more.

Little Brother Chapter 5.1

I think Marcus lies because he is told to keep it a secret. I would not have done the same; I would be inclined to tell the truth. Also, I would be so angry I would want people to know what happened to me. If someone kidnapped me and made me live under atrocious conditions, I would want the whole world to know. Finally, if I found out that the government I trust did that kind of stuff, I would want to report it to the people.

Little Brother Chapter 4

I think privacy is having the freedom to make your own choices, have private conversations, and perhaps being able to do stuff without people /others knowing about it. People should be allowed to go to the restroom privately, talk on the phone privately, and have conversations with others privately. I think people should be able to have conversations without others monitoring them. Finally, I think technology be more secure- in able to be more private.

Chapter 3

In my opinion, when people say "terrorist" I imagine a Muslim guy with a headdress and long dress looking gown. I imagine them with long long looooong beards, and crazy deep eyes. I think a terrorist is someone who attacks his or another country- an enemy of the people/ country. I think the terrorists are probably thought of being Marcus and his friends because of their hacking skills. In reality though, others are the terrorists :p

Chapter 3.1

I think Marcus should have waited to see if the car he stopped was a cop/paramedic. I would have waited until I was certain that the car I stopped was going to help. I mean, now, he just made the situation worse: they got kidnapped and Darryl might die if they don't get help soon. I think I would have made sure "Van" gave the OK and THEN tried to stop a car. Also, I think Marcus did a very wrong thing- he is jeopardizing their lives.

Little Brother Chapter 2

Marcus and his friends sneaked out of school to track down the game's clue. Just as they were getting close a girl and HER group threatened to snitch if they didn't back off the clue. Just then a bomb exploded. If I would have been in that situation, I think I would have freaked out. I would probably run to my old school - they have tons of basements that could be used as shelters in an emergency. If I was in school I wouldn't run. I'd rather be bombed.

Little Brother Chapter 1

In the book Little Brother, Marcus sounds like a tech geek - and a little like a know-it-all, too. His high school is run by paranoid administrators that believe that by tracking the students' every move they are providing perfect security measures. Unlike Animo Pat Brown - Ceasar Chavez High tracks the students' school provided laptops- and even their library books!! I would HATE that school. I believe that if tracking is necessary in a whole student body then it must not be a good school; they should be able to control their students' conduct without going extreme :P

Winter Break

 On Christmas I went to a party and I was bored out of my mind D: It ended at around 3 AM- so I ended up going to bed around 4 AM. It was SO tiring. During the party, crazy things happened. A drunk homeless woman was arrested next to the house where the party was hosted. The police asked her where she lived and she said she was my realitive's daughter - that she'd give her life for him and so would him! Half an hour later the cops brought her back. It was too funny ! (:
But what I LOVED about winter break was ....... SLEEPING ! And staying up late watching movies (:

New Years' Resolution

For this new year, I will focus more on doing my homework, keeping track of completed assignments, and make up any work possible. My goal is to have a 4.0 by the end of the year (:

Another new year resolution would include talking to my family more- since I think I have excluded myself from them. I think I need to be more patient and learn how to control myself a bit more. I think that 2012 will have many surprises and I have to be ready for them - whatever they are.
